No Rain Record – Why did it Flood?

Jon Rix, Senior Water Resources Consultant, Tonkin + Taylor

On Christmas Eve 2015 a storm event resulted in significant flooding at Omaha. The closest rain gauge recorded a 2 year event. Private rain gauges recorded a 100 year event. Jon will present his recent Hydrological Society Conference paper assessing whether rain radar can be used to validate a stormwater model and replicate the flooding experienced by residents in Omaha.

Drinks and nibbles sponsored by Tonkin and Taylor before and after the presentations.
