Walk for Water challenge 2019 – 22 March in Auckland
Only three weeks to go! But there’s still time to enter the Walk for Water Challenge.
This is an opportunity to get fit, have fun and at the same time raise awareness and funds to bring safe drinking water to the many millions of people who miss out on clean water.
Go here to see how to join the challenge and carry a 20-litre can of water for six kilometres – a daily task for many girls and women.
Water New Zealand is pleased to support Walk for Water 2019 to help raise funds for clean and accessible water for communities in the developing world.
The Walk for Water 2019 takes place in Auckland on 22 March as part of World Water Day. It’s being organised by Engineers Without Borders and is open to anyone who wants to give it a go. There’s still plenty of time to join the EWB team to train with like-minded people. LINZ Key Dataset Improvement Questionnaire

As part of the update on LINZ’s resilience work LINZ has a key data improvement initiative that they are currently seeking feedback from users to help prioritise data improvements.
The link below will take you to a site that provides a brief overview of this work, and also access to 12 individual surveys for each of the key dataset groups. LINZ are not expecting that everyone will undertake all 12 surveys, just those that are of most interest to their work. Each survey should take around 10 minutes.

David Sedlak author of Water 4.0,
The Past, Present and Future of the world’s most vital resource. Many of us have read his book’s, his latest book helps us to make informed decisions about the future and what the catalysts have been for the previous three revolutions in urban water systems that have occurred over the past 2,500 years and the technologies that will remake the system.
David and colleagues will be presenting in Auckland on Monday, 15 April from 9.30am - 10.30am at City Campus of the University of Auckland, Fale Pacifika and Wellington on the afternoon of Wednesday, 17 April, time & venue TBC.
The tentative topics David and his colleagues will be talking on are:
- Water reuse
- Protection of drinking water
- PFOS (A New Zealand issue for possibly the next decade)
