OFFICIAL NOMINATION FORM 2010/2011 Board Election
Call for nominations for the election to the Board of Water New Zealand closes 5:00pm, Tuesday 3 August 2010. Successful nominees are announced at the AGM.

NOTICES OF MOTION for the AGM should be made in writing to the CEO by Wednesday, 18 August 2010 and should be signed and dated by the mover and seconder, both of whom must be financial members of the Association and should include an explanation for the reasons of the motion. Any notices submitted after 18 Aug will not be accepted. This notice is in accordance with Rule 12.4 of the Constitution.

NOTICE OF AGM - The 2010 Annual General Meeting of Water New Zealand will be held on Wednesday, 22 September 2010 at 5:30pm in the Christchurch Convention Centre.

Profiles

Martin Smith
President - Martin Smith

Martin Smith is the General Manager Infrastructure for Manukau Water Limited. In previous years, Martin has worked for City Care and MWH. Martin’s career has taken him to Australia, Singapore, Hong Kong, China and the United Kingdom. After two years service on Water New Zealand Board, Martin has been elected President.


Onno Mulder
Board Member – Onno Mulder

Onno is the Chief Executive of City Care Limited. Onno leads a successful organisation of 1000 staff, with contracts and branches across New Zealand. Onno has been involved in managing and developing City Care's water and wastewater business for the past ten years, seeing the business grow from a single maintainance contract in Christchurch to providing maintenance and contruction services across major clients around New Zealand. This is Onno's first term on the Water New Zealand Board.
Clive Rundle
Board Member - Clive Rundle

Clive is a General Manager of Beca’s Water, Wastewater and Environmental business in New Zealand and is a Director of CH2M Beca Ltd and Beca Infrastructure Ltd. He has led significant projects such as New Zealand’s first membrane treatment plant for Tauranga City Council and Watercare’s Waikato Water Treatment Plant. This is Clive’s second term on the Water New Zealand Board.

David Ward
Board Member - David Ward

David is the Water Sector Business Development Manager New Zealand for Aurecon, with a greatly diverse portfolio of achievements in the industry. He has gained a wide range of stormwater / water and wastewater experience, both in New Zealand and internationally. He has been very active with the Modelling Special Interest Group and is a former chairman of the Group. He wishes to provide alignment of all Special Interest groups for the benefit of members and to reinforce and promote the technical ability of the organisation.
Steve Couper
Board Member - Steve Couper

Steve is the Managing Director of AWT Group and AWT New Zealand Limited with 18 years experience in the Water sector, initially in the UK as a process engineer for the Water Research Centre and then for several engineering firms in New Zealand. Steve’s technical expertise is in process design and process development. Steve is currently responsible for AWT's company strategy and operations in Australia and New Zealand. Steve is keen to bring a research and science focus to Water New Zealand and linkage with external water organisations. This is Steve’s first term on the Water New Zealand Board.
Steve Carne
Board Member - Steve Carne

Steve is the National Manager of GHD’s water business. He is familiar with the majority of New Zealand’s key water industry players and has a good understanding of the issues facing both provincial and city members from living in both areas of New Zealand. He is determined to enhance the technical capabilities of its members and to support advocacy roles for government forums. This is Steve’s first term on the Water New Zealand Board.

Margaret Devlin
Co-opted Board Member - Margaret Devlin

A professional director operating primarily within the infrastructure sector,  Margaret worked in the United Kingdom’s water industry at a senior and director level for 16 years. She is a Fellow of the Institute of Water Officers, a Chartered Environmentalist, and an Accredited Director of the Institute of Directors New Zealand Inc.  She is a Board member of Metrowater, WEL Networks, Citycare, CF Reese, Scott Sheet Metal, EPIC and Moto International Holding s Ltd. This is Margaret’s second term on Water New Zealand Board.
David Hill
Co-opted Board Member - David Hill

David is the CEO of Capacity, where his role is to ensure the company meets its growth aspirations, achieves customer satisfaction and achieves the vision. Prior to this role, he held senior executive positions in the financial and energy sectors within New Zealand over a period of 20 years. David is also an experienced company director, having held directorships in private and public companies over a 10 year period, including a six year stint as Chair of a public company.
