There are three pre-conference workshops being held on Tuesday the 3rd of May. You can register for two of these through the Conference registration site here. the Rivers Group Workshop is a separate workshop to the conference and is being held off-site. Workshop Title: The Implementation of the NZTA Stormwater Treatment Standard for State Highway Infrastructure

Workshop Outline:     This workshop will provide an in-depth introduction to stormwater management design and implementation for state highway infrastructure. It will provide discussion of the basics of design and sizing criteria. In addition to an overview of important design information there will be detailed discussion of those practices anticipated for use on state highway projects. While this workshop is focused on highways the principles are also applicable for those individuals having an interest in general stormwater management design.

Workshop Title: How to Make your Stormwater Device Work Better

Workshop Outline: This is a designer-focused workshop that highlights design elements that should be incorporated on site plans and in specifications to make these practices work better. A special emphasis on “what went wrong” is given so that designers can avoid common mistakes that other overseas designers have made:
1. Stormwater Wetlands & Retention Ponds
2. Rain Gardens
3. Permeable Pavement
4. Green Roofs
5. Filter Strips & Grassed Swales
