Queenstown Lakes District Council is an organisation focussed on the delivery of service excellence to the community, to not only maintain but enhance life in this already idyllic setting. Working at QLDC offers fantastic career and network development opportunities, alongside an active lifestyle in NZ’s picture perfect adventure capital that is second to none.

The Infrastructure Services team within the Council pride themselves on an ability to approach complex engineering challenges with innovative, high quality, and sustainable solutions. We are seeking an ambitious, motivated & innovative Senior 3 Waters Service Engineer who can hit the ground running in this rewarding and challenging role.

You will have:
  • Engineering experience in 3 Waters construction and maintenance (New Zealand based)
  • A relevant tertiary qualification, preferably a Bachelor of Engineering
  • A strong working knowledge of New Zealand 3 Waters design, construction and maintenance standards, and practice
  • A strong understanding of 3 Waters networks, and systems for managing them
  • Proven extensive experience managing budgets, alongside the management of works and contractors
  • Some 3 Waters design experience
  • A proven ability to think outside the square

This is a role focussed on managing the operation of the 3 Waters Networks as an operational team leader. It will suit a professional who is approaching or has already achieved Chartered Engineer status, and is ready to step into a people management role.

Alongside the ongoing maintenance of assets and the provision of high quality advice and service across the board, you will be required to manage contracted works and minor capital projects, including budgets and customer relationships, so it is essential that you can display an ability to communicate effectively with people.

The successful candidate will step into a collaborative, high energy team, and will be encouraged to grow and develop with the role. You can expect a remuneration package reflecting the appropriate skills and experience brought to the position.

This is a unique opportunity to take that exciting next career step into a role where you can really make your mark, whilst experiencing everything the Queenstown Lakes District has to offer. Step into a team offering great training, career development and lifestyle opportunities!
