Central Zone Manager

We are currently recruiting for a Zone Manager for the Central Waikato catchment management area which will be based in our Hamilton office, and working across the Hamilton City Council, and parts of the Waikato and Waipa District Council areas.
This role provides direction while overseeing the management of our integrated catchment management programmes in this part of the Waikato region. It will be responsible for the delivery of soil conservation, water quality, championing good stormwater management practices, biodiversity, river management, flood mitigation, and establishing and maintaining relationships with a range of key stakeholders such as Iwi, Local Government, and members of the community, as well as being a key liaison for the local Zone Catchment Committee. The position is responsible for ensuring the delivery of the Zone Plan as the outcomes of Council's Annual and Long Term Plans are achieved.
To be successful in this role you will possess excellent communication skills, be very well organized, and be a strategic thinker with relevant experience in stormwater management. Strong project management and relationship building skills are also essential. Ideally you will also have a sound knowledge of sustainable land management and integrated catchment management practices and have some experience in local or central government.
