About RATA - Regional Asset Technical Accord
Since 2014, Waipa District Council has housed the RATA (Regional Asset Technical Accord) business unit, created and governed by WLASS (Waikato Local Authority Shared Services) to provide a Waikato Centre of Excellence, facilitating the sharing of councils' asset management resources. Originally focussed on roading activity, the WLASS Board have recently approved an expansion of RATA to include collaboration in the waters space. With changes on the horizon for the New Zealand waters industry, a broadening vision for the business unit, and approval for additional roles, it's an exciting time ahead for RATA! Collaboration between councils allows for the delivery of more advanced asset management and compliance than could be achieved independently, enhancing council decision making and reducing whole of life costs; ultimately delivering better outcomes for our communities.
About the Role
An exciting new position has been created - the RATA Waters Collaboration Lead - in order to drive the collaborative creation of a body of systems and processes enabling RATA Councils to achieve compliance with the incoming Waters Regulatory Framework(s), and building greater peer networks between councils' waters teams. Reporting to this role will be a Waters Asset Information Engineer - a position the successful candidate will lead the recruitment for, with appropriate support.
To be our successful candidate, you will have the following:
- A relevant qualification in environmental or physical science;
- Knowledge of NZ drinking water standards;
- Excellent communication skills; and
- Demonstrated experience leading and influencing, and working collaboratively.
