Maintenance & Works Planner (Water Services)

  • Te Awamutu based with district-wide responsibilities
  • Local Government opportunity

The Waipā District is nestled in the heart of the Waikato, within commuting distance of Hamilton, and within easy reach of Auckland and Tauranga on weekends. It is one of the top five growth areas in New Zealand and has a reputation for being the 'Home of Champions' - and with good reason. Look back over the past ten years at how our district has flourished into a central North-Island hub for people to live, work and play. Well, the next ten years are going to be just as busy, with significant growth, and incredibly exciting projects occurring district wide. Encircled by mountains and reserves, Waipā offers high-performance sport (rowing, cycling and kayaking) and opportunities to get out into nature in abundance. Coupled with fantastic local schools and great house prices, Waipā is the ideal place to achieve true work/life balance.

Following an internal appointment, we are now looking to recruit for our new Maintenance & Works Planner. Reporting to the Network Engineer (Water Services), this role will take overall responsibility for planning, scheduling and closing-out maintenance activities in accordance with Asset Management Plans and actions stemming from customer requests and reactive activities. This role works closely with the various Water Services Seniors (Reticulation/Water Treatment/Wastewater Treatment), Operators, and contractors.

We are seeking an experienced professional with a relevant trade certificate, full and clean driver's licence and at least 8-10 years of experience in a Three Waters operational environment, including a minimum of two years in a similar role (leadership OR project management OR planning and scheduling etc.).

Here at Waipā team fit is just as important as the technical expertise so for a full overview of the job and person requirements, please refer to the accompanying job description.

Our communities are at the forefront of all that we do, that's why we work hard to ensure that we have the best people on board our Waipā team. If you're looking for an exciting and unique opportunity to help shape the future vision for Waipā then we would love to hear from you.
