Services Asset Manager


The Stratford District Council is looking for an experienced 3-Waters Engineer looking to step into a management role.

We are looking for someone to work alongside the previous manager who is looking to move into retirement which will give the successful candidate the advantage of 40 years of local government experience, and local infrastructure knowledge to be handed over.

Council is seeking an emerging or experienced leader. This position is responsible for the water, wastewater, trade waste, stormwater and solid waste functions of the Council and will manage the delivery of the physical works programme for these activities.

The ideal candidate will have recent and relevant experience in local government, a minimum of 10 years' experience in utility network management, financial budgeting and management, an understanding of legislative requirements and of asset management plans and procedures. Proven project management experience is vital.

This is a permanent, full-time position which involves the:

  • Development of plans, policies, budgets and programmes;
  • Operational management of the utilities functions;
  • Management of physical works programme; and
  • Team leadership.

The preferred candidate must be competent in Microsoft Office products. They must be able to work individually and as part of a team, have an analytical mindset with a strong eye for detail and have excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
