We are looking for a Manager – Utilities, a strategic leader with technical expertise who will develop and enhance a high performing utilities team, responsible for the successful and sustainable delivery of seven water and seven wastewater schemes across the Tararua District.

Reporting to the Group Manager – Infrastructure, this role requires a passion for leadership, water and wastewater services, and for supporting Council to successfully meet commitments to our community in a structured and focused way.

You will have a direct impact on the direction and wellbeing of our communities, and diverse opportunities to further develop your leadership and technical skills.

The successful candidate will help Council achieve their goals by:

  • Providing proactive strategic leadership to the utilities team, guiding and collaborating with others in a diverse and challenging environment.
  • Providing professional strategic advice and support to the Group Manager – Infrastructure and wider Council organisation.
  • Overseeing the successful delivery of water and wastewater services, informing the direction of our district and associated investment requirements.
  • Developing and enhancing trusted and collaborative relationships with key stakeholders and suppliers.
