We are currently seeking a Wastewater Treatment Team Leader to join Tararua District Council’s Utilities team.
You will be responsible for the successful operation and maintenance of the district’s seven wastewater treatment plants, by proactively leading and managing staff, completing operational checks, maintenance activities, sampling and testing, data collection and participating in upgrade works and improvement of the treatment plants.
Reporting to the Manager – Utilities, this role requires a passion for leadership, wastewater services, and for supporting Council to successfully meet commitments to our community. We can offer diverse opportunities to further develop your leadership and technical skills positioning you well for future three waters sector changes.
The following skills and work experience are desirable:
- Trade qualifications or diplomas in both water and wastewater treatment
- At least 5 years’ experience in wastewater treatment plants
- Experience in working with confined spaces and working at heights
- Dangerous Goods Licence
- Class 4 Heavy Vehicle Licence
- Ability to read and understand manuals and drawings
- A flexible attitude and ability to communicate at all levels
