The residents of Dunedin along with visitors to the city are provided with safe drinking water supplied by six water treatment plants. These plants provide high quality drinking water which is required to meet the NZ Drinking Water Standards. The people who operate Dunedin’s water treatment plants make an important contribution to the public health of the community in which they live and work.
With water reform in the pipeline, the Supervisor will need to adapt to challenges that come with the rapidly changing environment. We are looking for an enthusiastic, reliable, punctual, honest and motivated individual with a great attitude to join our 3 Waters Team based at our water treatment plants.
We expect that as a minimum you would be working towards or have gained a Level 5 qualification in a relevant field, such as water treatment. You will be a vital part of the team which operates and maintains Dunedin’s water treatment plants.
As a Supervisor you will be responsible for the day-to-day operation of the treatment plants including managing and supporting staff, the supervision of contractors, identifying opportunities for staff development, building relationships within council, and ensuring health and safety responsibilities are met.
