Taitara Mahi – 3 Waters Stormwater Officer

We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic person to join our experienced and driven 3 Waters Team as a 3 Waters Stormwater Officer.

The primary purpose of this position is to manage the Hastings District Council Approvals to Discharge Controlled Stormwater, undertake environmental monitoring, inspections and analysis of stormwater discharges, providing advice on suitable treatment options and manage stormwater sampling in accordance with stormwater resource consents.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Recognised qualification in environmental science, management or environmental engineering, or related discipline;
  • Current full driver’s license;
  • Experience in Environmental Management preferably for Local Government;
  • Knowledge of the Resource Management Act;
  • Experience in auditing systems, processes or procedures;
  • Experience in environmental sampling and analysis;
  • Experience in environmental investigations;
  • Initiative and be able to work in a team environment;
  • A cool and collected manner when working under pressure;
  • An innovative and proactive approach to solving problems.
