Wastewater Technician
The South Waikato region is thriving, and we currently have an outstanding opportunity for a technically minded person to join our team as a Wastewater Technician. Taking the next step in their career whilst being involved in some exciting projects on a day to day basis.
As part of a dedicated team, the successful candidate will be primarily responsible for performing a wide variety of operational maintenance to meet resource consent requirements and ensuring that our Wastewater Treatment Plant assets are operated and maintained to a high standard.
You will:
- Operate, inspect, repair and maintain all wastewater equipment
- Collect, test and record samples ensuring that effluent meets resource consent
- Enter wastewater manholes, chambers and pump stations for inspections and maintenance
- Investigate wastewater pipeline leaks, equipment failures, blockages, and overflows
- Carry out monitoring and preventative maintenance on all equipment
- Logging operational status, jobs and changes
To be successful in this role you will have:
- New Zealand Certificate or Diploma in Wastewater treatment
- Three to four years' relevant experience
- Minimum full driver's licence
- Commitment to health and safety standards
- Flexibility to work on a roster that includes shift work/standby
- Proven problem-solving ability
- Great work ethic
To excel in this role, you will need to possess a high level of initiative, work unsupervised, have strong attention to detail and ability to accurately record data and write reports.
