We are currently looking for an experienced Technical Manager with demonstrated leadership and management capabilities to join our vibrant NZ Team.

Reporting to the NZ Country Director, you will be responsible for project and technical services and solutions across Veolia’s New Zealand Operations. You will lead and manage the project and technical arm of Veolia’s Projects, Technical, Assets Group (PTAG) in the delivery of Veolia engineering and technical solutions ensuring services are delivered on time, on budget and to a high level of quality.

You will have strategic management responsibility and overview of both internal and client direct project and technical services, specifically including:

  • Engineering – investigation and design
  • Technical – process solutions, optimisation, quality and compliance
  • Project delivery – project procurement delivery, commissioning and acceptance
  • Operational engineering – operational engineering assistance and solutions
  • Electrical and SCADA – operational and project electrical and SCADA solutions
  • Business assistance – business development and business solutions

Key qualifications, experience and skills of the successful applicant include:

  • Bachelor of Engineering degree and/or relevant tertiary qualification
  • Demonstrable experience in water and wastewater related project delivery and/or engineering design; or equivalent combination of education, training and experience
  • Experience in a management position with at least five years’ experience in engineering design and/or project management and delivery
  • Experience in development of client engineering solutions and offerings
  • Experience in leading and managing a team and driving results
  • Proven ability to manage a project and deliver within time and budget constraints
  • Proven ability to establish and maintain working relationships with clients and colleagues
  • Ability to understand business and contract models, and the commercial nature of Veolia operations
