We have the opportunity for an Apprentice of Wastewater to join our City Waters team. This role is part of our commitment to future-proofing our workforce, and upskilling new staff to join our Plant Operations Team.

From day to day you will assist with the operations team at the Hamilton City Wastewater Treatment Plant, while undertaking on and off job training to complete your studies. You’ll be enrolled into the Level 4 New Zealand Certificate in Wastewater Treatment and Level 5 New Zealand Diploma Wastewater Treatment, which are usually completed in 25 months, with a requirement for you to have completed at least 50% of the qualification in the first year.

You’ll be joining a team of industry professionals who are passionate about their contribution to our city’s water supply. We will support you in your studies and provide real-life experience working in a treatment plant. We are looking for candidates who work well in a team, have a natural affinity for technical systems, assessing risk, and are committed to health and safety. You’ll have an interest in waste water treatment and be keen to kick-start your career in this industry.
