Smart Water Infrastructure (SWIG)


The Water New Zealand Smart Water Infrastructure Special Interest Group (SWIG) brings together water asset managers, operators, vendors, consultants and academics to increase the capacity of the water sector to adopt digital and smart water initiatives and solutions. Digital and Smart Water initiatives and solutions use data to improve water service delivery.

This Group shares collective knowledge and experiences of digital and smart water solutions, collaborates on work towards standards and consistent approaches and identifies key competencies and access to relevant training.



Membership of the groups is open to all Water New Zealand members. Activities of the group are overseen by a committee of up to fifteen group members and administered by Water New Zealand.

Committee membership is open to all group members, and new members are confirmed annually at the group’s Annual General Meeting.

This will register you for notification of committee openings, as well as up to date correspondence on events, news, and other group activities.
