As Project Manager within Waitaki District Council’s 3 Waters and Waste Team, you’ll be responsible for the efficient and effective delivery of capital projects for water, wastewater, stormwater and solid waste to sustain and improve our community’s quality of life.

The team

Our 3 Waters and Waste Team is a close-knit group of engineering professionals who pride themselves on close collaboration, high performance and continuous improvement. The team is well-resourced and exists within a supportive assets group – providing plenty of opportunities for professional development.

The position

As Project Manager based in our Oamaru office, you’ll be responsible for ensuring projects assigned from the team’s capital works programme are cost-effectively designed, planned, procured, constructed and commissioned. You’ll get the chance to take full ownership of projects through to completion - and to enjoy the satisfaction that comes from being part of a team that makes a significant contribution to the wellbeing of Waitaki’s community.

About you

You’ll be an experienced and qualified project manager, ideally with specific expertise in the 3 waters and waste sectors. You’ll also have proven all-round contract management skills - including contract document preparation, tender evaluation and contractor supervision. Your excellent communication and relationship management skills will be vital in your day-to-day dealings with contractors, the team, key stakeholders, industry professionals, and the public.
