2017/18 Data Collection FAQ's


The following questions have arisen during the 2017/18 review. Clarifications are listed below:

QUESTION: WSS11: Water restriction days

The units field shows this should be listed as properties*days however this is contradicted by the data description field which says “The total number of days boiled water notices were in place, multiplied by the number of affected community members”. Which should be used; community members, or, number of properties?

ANSWER: Multiply this field by the number of properties. There is an example provided in the definitions guidelines which can be followed.


QUESTION: WSS12: Boiled water notices

The units field shows this should be listed as properties*days however this is contradicted by the data description field which says “The total number of days water restrictions were in place, multiplied by the number of affected community members”. Examples are provided in the definitions guidelines.” Which should be used; community members, or, number of properties?

ANSWER: Multiply this field by the number of properties. There is an example provided in the definitions guidelines which can be followed.


QUESTIONS: WWA4/SWA6: Wastewater/Stormwater CCTV inspection

Should pipelines in new subdivisions and council projects that have had CCTV inspections prior to commissioning be included, or, does this figure just refer to operational or condition assessment purposes?

ANSWER: Yes. Include all CCTV inspections.


QUESTION: SWS5 Flooding events

What is the definition of flooding event? Does this only include events where habitable floors are flooded?

ANSWER: Yes. Only include flooding events where habitable floors have been affected.


QUESTION: SWS5 Flooding events/SWS5a Number of habitable floors affected

Should floods that occur outside of areas where a specific urban type stormwater service is provided be included?

ANSWER: No


QUESTION: SWS5 Flooding events/SWS5a Number of habitable floors affected

Does this include inundation from the sea?

ANSWER: No


QUESTION: CB19d SCADA Monitoring

What is the definition of a SCADA monitoring point.

ANSWER: A monitoring point is defined as any digital or analogue field input into the SCADA system (e.g. flow monitoring points, overflow monitoring point etc.).
