First presented in 2007, this award is intended to recognise hard work, aptitude and a keen desire to advance a career in the water industry.
An employer can nominate a trainee who is currently involved in an NZQA approved course applicable to any aspect of the water industry.
Nomination
An employer can nominate a trainee who is working full time in an operational capacity and currently involved in an NZQA approved course applicable to any aspect of the water industry.
The nominator is to forward a word file containing the following information:
- the nominators name, organisation and contact details;
- the nominated trainees name, organisation and contact details; and
- a maximum of 250 words explaining why the trainee is an appropriate recipient of the award.

Judging
All entries will be assessed by a panel of three judges.
The judges reserve the right to not offer the award. The judge's decision will be final.
Prize
The winner will receive a significant prize, including a suitable trophy, cash or in-kind goods or services.
