Water NZ CHRISTCHURCH Regional Meeting

What: Technical Presentation on delivering resource-efficient wastewater services

Beca are hosting a technical visit to NZ by Claus Homann, the Chief Operation Officer and Chief of Strategic Development for Aarhus Water Ltd. in Aarhus, a leading water utility company in Denmark. Claus is an international expert on resource recovery and energy neutrality for wastewater plants and has worked on projects around the world. He is a recent WEF Board member and has had a long standing relationship with WEFTEC.

Aarhus Water Ltd produce drinking water, treat wastewater, maintain sewer systems and are actively involved in groundwater (bore water) protection. Their mission is to offer and develop resource-efficient services throughout the entire water cycle, creating a climate-adapted, sound environment, growth and export, all of which will be of benefit to customers and stakeholders. Aarhus Vand is internationally known for their innovative technologies and services and theyare currently developing on of the world’s most resource-effective treatment plants – the Marselisborg WWTP.

This event will start with a short celebration as Humphrey Archer is presented with the prestigious Golden Shovel. The Golden Shovel is awarded to individuals who have made a significant contribution to the water industry in New Zealand over their career. Mike Bourke will be convening the award ceremony.
