Senior Civil Engineer

Calum Pringle is a senior civil engineer at Queenstown Lakes District Council. He undertakes a quality assurance role for the 3 Waters programme of capital works and drives climate conscious design and construction as part of his role in coordination with the mandates of the QLDC Climate Action Plan.

David is the GM Commercial of Fletcher Building’s Concrete Division which includes Golden Bay Cement, Firth Concrete, Winstone Aggregates and Humes Pipelines. His role includes developing innovative sustainable solutions for customers, marketing and cement market management.

Technical Director - Water

Nick is a principal process engineer and project manager at Mott MacDonald with over 20 years’ water industry experience gained in New Zealand, Australia, United Kingdom and Pacific Islands. Has worked in design and management roles across the sector and throughout the project lifecycle. In recent years he has grown the New Zealand capability in capital and operational carbon baselines, process greenhouse gas emissions, net zero strategies, and expanded use of the Moata Carbon Portal. This has included contributing to Water New Zealand publications on Navigating the Sector to Net Zero, and guidelines for estimating wastewater process emissions.

Barbara’s passion is to enable organisations to succeed sustainably. She often describes her job as a translator, translating sustainability into traditional business language. Together with her team, she delivers a full range of sustainability services from strategy and materiality assessments to detailed Life Cycle Assessments and Cradle to Cradle® projects. Barbara has worked with organisations in New Zealand, Australia, Asia and Europe, effectively linking sustainability with business value.

The founder and first president of the Life Cycle Association New Zealand (LCANZ), Barbara initiated the Australasian EPD Programme. She is a member of the Technical Advisory Group for the Science Based Targets initiative, the International EPD system and the Steering Group for the Climate Leaders Coalition. Barbara has chaired the New Zealand working group for the development of ISO standards for Carbon Footprinting, is a Certified LCA Practitioner, and is an associate editor for the International Journal of LCA.
