Havelock North Inquiry Outcomes Seminar - Whangarei

Water New Zealand Seminars on the Far-reaching Havelock North Inquiry Recommendations - what you need to know.

Indications at this stage are that most, if not all, of the Stage 2 Havelock North Inquiry recommendations will be implemented by the Government. How will this affect your organisation's water services? What are the problems the inquiry has identified and what are the solutions that have been proposed?

The Inquiry recommendations are bold and propose far-reaching changes. Water suppliers need to understand the proposed changes and, if implemented, will need to adapt to a considerably changed drinking-water environment.

Water New Zealand will be delivering a series of seminars throughout New Zealand in February on the outcomes of the Havelock North Inquiry.

The seminars will cover the significant problems that the Inquiry has exposed in the New Zealand drinking-water industry and examine the key statements made. They will explain the recommendations made and consider the short and long term implications for local authorities and other water suppliers.

The seminars will be presented by Jim Graham and Noel Roberts of Water New Zealand. Noel attended all of the Inquiry hearings and Jim was an expert advisor to the Inquiry.

The seminars will be delivered in 11 towns across New Zealand and are intended for elected Council officials, water supply managers, and other key water supply staff. They will be presented over three hours and include time for questions and discussion of any matters that are raised.
