Waste Stabilisation Ponds – Workshop on the new Guide

Waste Stabilisation Ponds are one of the most energy efficient and cost effective wastewater treatment systems available. The new Water New Zealand WSP Guide gives up to date information across this technology and can be obtained by free download from the Water New Zealand website library here.

The WSP Guide is comprehensive and specifically focused on New Zealand conditions and what is known, proven and currently available in the market place. It gives focused advice on what should be considered for a particular situation, achievable performance standards and why upgrades should always start with a performance review based on operational audits before considering any capex based improvement. It contains important knowledge for asset managers, operators, resource consent officers and health professionals involved with WSPs.

This Water New Zealand workshop will introduce the content of the Guide, why it was written and how it should be used. Nick Walmsley, one of the authors, will present the workshop. It is assumed that attendees will have downloaded and be familiar with the manual prior to the workshop as there will be active dialogue and Q&A opportunities.

NB This workshop will be held as part of the WIOG Conference. Admission is complimentary to Conference attendees but please email Pip Donnelly if you plan on attending.

If you have any questions please email Pip Donnelly or ph 04 472 8925.
