Integrated coastal water quality modelling for limit setting process (Water Quality 2/3)

Webinar

Topic: Integrated coastal water quality modelling for limit setting process (Water Quality 2/3)

National Policy Statement for Freshwater Management requires Regional Councils to consider the connectivity between freshwater and coastal waters, and assess limits in the freshwater domain required to protect the values of coastal receiving environments. Research shows that to set a goal of uniform reduction in catchment loads to achieve ecological and human-amenity objectives is neither realistic nor cost effective.

In this webinar, we will discuss how numerical modelling can be used to determine the connectivity between different catchment source regions and the coastal environment, and find targeted ways to reduce the levels of catchment loading that would result in an acceptable state of the coastal receiving environment.
