Helen Atkins, President of Water New Zealand will introduce the Guide, and its purpose of assisting water services sector members in understanding key concepts and values underpinning the Maori world view of the environment. The Guide focuses on the meaning of Te Mana o te Wai as that term is used in the National Policy Statement on Freshwater 2020.

The Water Services Bill introduces a requirement on all those exercising functions, powers and duties to give effect to Te Mana o Te Wai. The webinar will start the discussion of what this could mean in practice for water sector employees.

This is the second of our webinar series and has been designed with Councils in mind.
