The focus of this session will be to highlight how using data and technology is supporting water authorities in their everyday decision making. Four speakers representing various horizons in the water industry will share their experience:
- Andrew Deutschle - Smart Networks Manager at Watercare will share some insights about Watercare’s Nerve Centre and the impact on their daily operations,
- Hugh Blake-Manson – Contract Manager at Waugh Infrastructure Management will focus on case studies demonstrating innovation in asset management practices,
- Mark Homenuke – Chief Operating Officer & NZ General Manager at WaterOutlook will provide examples of how technology is being used by smaller Councils in their digital journey and
- Nasrine Tomasi – Smart Water Product Lead at Mott MacDonald will share how machine learning is currently being deployed for flood forecasting in the Piha catchment as well as a study area in Bangkok.
These four presentations will be followed by questions and answers with a discussion of the lessons learnt on the path to innovation in the water sector.
