Water New Zealand Stormwater Regional Meeting

The Stormwater Group of Water New Zealand caters to all people involved or interested in the management of stormwater systems in an urban context. An important part of continually improving stormwater design and management is for practitioners to meet together to share ideas and build our collective knowledge. As part of that, we are going to hold the first Canterbury Stormwater Group meeting on Thursday February 26th 2015 at the Aurecon Colombo St office. Drinks and nibbles will be supplied by Aurecon.

In this first meeting we have two brief presentations planned:

  • Paul Hopwood from ECan will introduce the working groups recently formed by territorial authorities in Canterbury which are focused on developing regional stormwater guidelines
  • Kalley Simpson/Gerard Cleary, both from WDC, will present on the Waimakariri Flood Taskforce which was formed following the severe flooding last year

The programme for the evening will be:

  • 5.30-6.00 Drinks, nibbles, networking
  • 6.00-6.30 Presentations and questions
  • 6.30-7.00 Discussion about future focus/frequency of meetings, request for volunteers to assist!

This first meeting will be held at the Aurecon Colombo St office - 518 Colombo St, near the corner with Moorhouse Ave. Someone will be on the door to let you in. If you get stuck please call me on 022 3422 164.

Quarterly meetings will be established around a relevant topic, so if there are any offers for a venue to host in May, August or November then please let Amy Aldrich know.

Can you please also pass on this message to any who you think may be interested.

If you wish to attend this event please RSVP to Amy Aldrich.
