Draft Submission on Local Government Funding and Finance Review

Water New Zealand is broadly supportive of the analysis, findings and recommendations of the Commission in relation to this Inquiry, in particular those related to the administration of 3 waters by Local Government. There is however one element of the report with which we do not agree, that to do with a permissive approach by Councils to meeting 3 waters regulatory objectives - and we have provided some commentary on that matter below.
