Response from Minister- Te Mana o te Wai definition for water in pipes, tanks and cisterns - big step forward

We welcomed the changes to the Water Entities Amendment Bill which defined Te Mana o te Wai to water in any form while in a pipe, tank or cistern.

The changes were made by the Select Committee and followed an earlier letter by Water New Zealand to the Local Government Minister, Kieran McAnulty.

This is an important change and sends clear and unambiguous direction to water service providers and the regulatory system for the funding and delivery of Te Mana o te Wai outcomes.
