Amendments to the National Policy Statement for Highly Productive Land

The Ministry for the Environment (MfE) and the Ministry for Primary Industries (MPI) sought feedback on potential amendments to the National Policy Statement for Highly Productive Land (NPS-HPL) to address issues raised since the policy came into effect in 2022.

We have submitted, asking amendments to include the construction of new specified infrastructure on HPL and recommending adapting land-based primary production land-use to natural hazards.
