The South Taranaki District Council operates ten modern water treatment plants and facilities. Due to the need for an additional qualified and skilled technician we are seeking to employ an individual with a real "Can Do" attitude and genuine interest in the water industry to join Council's team of Water Treatment Technicians.

The Water Treatment Technician position will suit someone who is adaptable, has a good grasp of modern technology such as computers and instrumentation, is capable of dealing with a wide variety of operating or process systems, has good understanding of drinking water standards and practices. Practical "hands on" experience in water treatment plant operation and/or other processing industry experience would be advantageous.

The Council is committed to a training and development programme and it expected that applicants will hold to the National Certificate in Water Treatment - Site Operator and the Diploma qualification or equivalent or better.

You must be willing to work flexible hours with a minimum of forty hours per week and participate in a roster system which involves monitoring and call outs. In return for this level of commitment an attractive remuneration package is offered.
