In this specialist role, based in Richmond, you'll be assisting the Team Leader with the management of Council's urban water assets. We put all our energies into providing peace of mind through the delivery of waste management, stormwater, wastewater and water supply services and the primary focus of this role will be on the urban water networks but may also involve work in waste water when required to meet team workloads. You will be responsible for day to day water reticulation management, and implementing and coordinating programmes for network modelling, leak detection and backflow prevention. You'll also be responsible for advising the Activity Planning team and implementing the Water Supply Activity Management Plan.

This a hands on opportunity to be involved in a rewarding operational role in which you have both variety of work and the satisfaction of seeing the results of your efforts straight away.

You'll most likely have a BEng degree and significant experience in a local government engineering role, or an NZDE with extensive prior experience in a local government engineering role. You'll demonstrate solid project management skills and a financial understanding of accounting for infrastructure assets. You'll also have experience in the provision of local authority utilities services.

While significant prior experience is preferred, we would be happy to consider applications from suitably qualified applicants who have fewer years' experience who also have potential to develop into the role.
