About the role

The Three Waters and Waste Asset Manager will provide effective and sustainable services through high quality asset management across QLDCs $1.4bn Three Waters and Waste asset base.  This will be completed by ensuring that Three Waters (3W) and solid waste asset management is robust and fit for purpose to support council decision making.

This position exercises discretionary decision-making authority under limited supervision and direction to ensure that QLDC achieve the best possible outcomes for the community.

The Asset Manager manages two direct reports in the Three Waters and Waste Asset Management team and holds key stakeholder relationships with internal QLDC employees, as well as external contractors and consultants.

Key duties:

  • Develop QLDCs 3W and waste asset management plans (AMPs) and associated support to the development of QLDCs statutory documents.
  • Develop QLDC’s 3W & waste Asset management strategies and their implementation into asset management standards, systems, processes and analytics.
  • Ensure up to date financial values for assets are assessed and are maintained correctly.
  • Improve asset data availability for internal and external use.
  • Engage in the development of asset / service risk and resilience improvement programmes.
  • Establish on-going dialogues and relationships with internal and external customers, and provide advice to the Senior Leadership team as required

About You

The successful candidate will hold:

  • A minimum Bachelor’s degree (Engineering preferable or similar)
  • A minimum of 15 years’ relevant work experience in similar discipline relevant to the responsibilities of the position, or a commensurate level of proven expertise.
  • Demonstrated understanding of asset management and infrastructure strategy.
  • Demonstrated advanced analytical and creative problem-solving skills are essential.
  • Proven track record of developing and maintaining relationships across a broad range of individuals at all levels in the organisation.
  • Highly developed communication skills including the ability to persuade and influence to obtain optimal outcomes.
