Reticulation Officer

The South Taranaki District Council is seeking to employ an individual with an interest in the essential services that underpin modern communities.

The appointee will assist in the management of infrastructure systems of the district's drainage (sewer and stormwater) and water networks. The focus will be on the wastewater networks which will include assisting in the control of the inflow and infiltration of stormwater into the sewer network. In addition, this position will assist with the identification and control of leakage and loss from water supply networks. Support will be provided in implementing the water conservation and leak detection programmes. The position is also responsible for providing support in administering and supervising contractors and works associated with all of these reticulation systems.

We are seeking a proactive and self-motivated Reticulation Officer with excellent communication and interpersonal skills to join our Utilities Team. This position would suit a candidate with a relevant qualification such as National Certificate in Water Reticulation or similar relevant industry qualification and/or at least 5 years experience in wastewater and water reticulation networks and/or household plumbing and drainage. The successful applicant will have a sound working knowledge in reticulation and industry practices and proven experience in operation and maintenance of water and drainage reticulation systems as well as great administrative skills.

The appointee will be responsible for ensuring that inflow and infiltration into wastewater networks and leakage and loss from water supply networks are identified and the necessary repairs carried out to rectify such issues in accordance with Council Policy\ies and Bylaws, while also carrying out specific projects and works as required by the Network Team Leader and Works Delivery Manager.
