Calling all water treatment gurus! We are on the lookout for a Treatment Plants Maintenance Manager to join the Three Waters team at the Palmerston North City Council.

Using the skills developed over your significant experience in the investigation design and project management of Water, Wastewater and Civil Engineering works and the knowledge gained through your Bachelor’s Degree in Civil, Mechanical or Process Engineering (or equivalent), you will be responsible for producing and delivering a detailed maintenance schedule, providing asset condition information to help develop the Capital Renewal programs as well as providing advice to our Technical Services team relating to Water and Wastewater projects and contracts.

Day to day, you’ll be managing a small maintenance team, developing, implementing and managing a wide variety of projects, communicating with internal and external stakeholders, and reviewing and updating project specifications. Consequently, your organisational and leadership skills will be instrumental in your success. Your ability to build and maintain strong relationships with a range of clients and stakeholders is also important to us.

We are seeking applications from those who have experience in maintenance management, investigation, design and project management of engineering works and have a passion for quality assurance. You’ll also have the ability to manage budgets, work programmes and professional services and design briefs, specifications, tender and contract documentation. The ability to work to timeframes and to ensure these goals and project outcomes are achieved is a must!

Your strong written and verbal communication skills, complimented by your ability to use Microsoft Office and specialist design packages will be invaluable in this role.
