Helmut is an experienced director, executive, and consultant with specialist skills in implementation and change management, business, and economic development (including new venture identification, planning, and establishment), strategic analysis and planning, public policy, and finance. Helmut has extensive consulting experience in a wide range of private and public sectors (particularly health) including appointment to the boards of PHARMAC, Capital & Coast District Health Board, Health Information Standards Organisation, and Health Information Strategy Action Committee.

Head of Sustainable Finance NZ, ANZ New Zealand Ltd

Head of Sustainable Finance NZ, ANZ New Zealand Limited Dean has spent more than 25 years in financial markets covering equities fund management and debt capital markets, both in New Zealand, the UK and continental Europe. Dean joined ANZ in 2006 on his return from London, where he had been responsible for interest rate and credit distribution to key UK and German investors. In 2008, Dean was appointed Head of Capital Markets, a position he held until March 2020, when he was appointed to his current role as Head of Sustainable Finance NZ. Dean was also part of the Aotearoa Circle’s sustainable finance working group in 2021, which contributed to the report, ‘Roadmap for a sustainable financial system by 2030’. He is currently a member of the Centre for Sustainable Finance, banking implementation group. His passion is to help foster the development of New Zealand’s sustainable finance market, with a particular interest in impact investment.

Co-founder of Simplicity

Sam Stubbs is the co-founder of Simplicity, one of NZ’s fastest growing KiwiSaver plans. Simplicity is a nonprofit KiwiSaver and Fund Manager that gives 15% of all fees to charity and invests with a conscience.

Sam was previously CEO of Tower Investments. He was MD of Hanover Group and worked for Goldman Sachs in London and Hong Kong. He has also worked for NatWest Markets, Fay, Richwhite and IBM.

Sam has an MA (Hons) in Politics from the University of Auckland.

Sam is a father of 4 children, and has no time for any hobbies! He dreams of Simplicity and sailing around the world.

Climate Policy Director – Toha and Rewiring Aotearoa

Dr David Hall is Climate Policy Director at Toha and Rewiring Aotearoa, and Senior Lecturer in Climate Action at AUT University’s School of Social Sciences & Public Policy. He has worked extensively with communities, iwi, businesses, and local and central government on climate action, with a particular focus on land use, energy innovation, policy design and sustainable finance.

Tonia is the Chief Executive of Wellington Water and is responsible for the company’s overall leadership, management, performance, and service delivery. Tonia is also responsible for progress towards the company’s strategic goals, which are set with the Senior Leadership Team, the Board of Directors and the Water Committee made up of our client councils.

Tonia has been an experienced senior executive in a number of infrastructure industries, including telecommunications and public transport.

Tonia lives in Hataitai with her family. She’s passionate about Wellington and the region and has always been a strong advocate for the people that work hard building, maintaining and operating the networks that keep our region humming.
