Hugh Goddard

As the Managing Director of Pipeline & Civil, I am driven by our vision to be NZ's leader for renewal and construction of critical infrastructure assets. This is achieved through supporting our people and extending this guardianship to our clients in order to achieve their goals.

I am a passionate advocate for health and safety in the construction sector, in particular, by helping to convince small and medium sized enterprises in New Zealand to embrace health and safety as a means of achieving operational excellence and superior business performance.

I particular enjoy working with my team to assist them to achieve their personal and professional goals.
I am a member of the Business Leader's H&S Forum Steering group, CHASNZ Board member, Vice-chair of the Auckland branch committee of Civil Contractors New Zealand and maintain involvement in developing trade training programmes as part of an Industry Reference Group with Connexis. I am a Chartered Director and independent Director of Inframax Construction Limited.

I was humbled to receive the award for Outstanding Individual of the Year at the 2021 Civil Contractors Auckland Branch Awards.

My experience in civil engineer includes projects related to constructing pipelines, roads and bridges, subdivisions, bulk earthworks and landfills. This includes tendering and delivering major infrastructure projects up to $800M in value in New Zealand, Ireland, UK, Sweden, Saudi Arabia and Poland.
I am chairman of Silverdale Rugby Club, involved as a volunteer and have coached, refereed and played rugby for many years. I am also a Taekwon-Do practioner, black belt and assistant instructor, a husband and parent to four awesome kids.
