Christine is an independent consultant and director at Water Cycle Consulting and has over 25 years of experience in asset management planning and strategic water supply planning and demand management. Christine has worked across New Zealand, Canada, Australia, Asia and the Pacific region. She is passionate about improving the sustainability of water infrastructure and strongly believes in the power of story-telling to encourage people to care about engineering topics. Christine has chaired the Water Efficiency and Conservation Network, a Water NZ Specialist Interest Group for the past three years. She is also one of the co-authors of the 2023 update of the New Zealand Water Loss Guidelines.

Water Engineer

Jack Furnish serves as a Water Engineer for the Tauranga City Council (TCC), focused on the operational management of the potable water network. With a background in Civil Engineering, Jack has focus on water loss management among the various other directions network operations pulls him in. He is responsible for the various Waterloss initiatives currently underway at TCC including traditional leak detection and acoustic logging, meter management, and the implementation of smart metering initiatives across TCC’s universally metered network.
