National Urban Stormwater Modelling Guidelines - Workshop

Conference

The project team will present the draft guideline structure and content developed to date, then request feedback on content and future priorities.

The overall objective of developing a national urban stormwater modelling guideline is to provide a consistent and robust urban flood hazard modelling process to aid understanding of risk and our management of it. A consistent approach will enable better decision making by communities, planners and engineers. The guideline will give greater certainty for councils, future Water Service Entities, developers and the public that modelled urban flood risk data can be used to enable common understanding and clear communication of urban flood risks and associated impacts.

The sector engagement and research completed of Phase 1 of this work has shown there is a clear mandate from the wider industry for national stormwater modelling guidance. In June 2023, the project's Technical Advisory Group recommended to DIA to progress to the drafting of national urban stormwater modelling guide. The document itself will be approximately 50% completed in October 2023, with industry feedback requested on the full draft in November / December 2023 and publication expected in early 2024.

This workshop will:

  1. Present the draft content (as a work in progress) and format
  2. Request feedback on content and future priorities
