There are only two weeks left to register for the 8th Australia and New Zealand Cyanobacteria Workshop to be held on the 26th & 27th September 2023.

An integral event on the global water calendar, this year’s Workshop will be a two-day in-person event hosted by the Department of Civil Engineering at Monash University.

Amid the conference theme of recent Australian and New Zealand research on cyanobacteria with implications for risk management within the water industry, participants will be inspired by featured topics, including:

  • Characterisation and risk
  • Detection and identification
  • Remote sensing
  • Source management
  • Treatment
  • Management strategies

In an optional third day workshop hosted by CSIRO, participants can discover how the AquaWatch Mission will support better water quality management, with unique forecasts from space providing early warnings of harmful events such as toxic algal blooms.

Water supply managers, health officials, ecologists, modellers, toxicologists and research experts in cyanobacterial identification and management are invited to attend the 8th Australia and New Zealand Cyanobacteria Workshop.
