Engineering Technician

Oli works on a range of renewal projects for Wellington Water and has primarily been involved in construction monitoring, preparing and managing contract documentation, and draughting. Oli enjoys being out on site and has a keen interest in health and safety in construction. He has completed training in confined spaces entry procedures and temporary traffic management and is a qualified traffic inspector.

Graduate Engineer

Kate join GHD in February 2022 after graduating from the University of Canterbury with a BEng (Hons), minoring in water and environmental systems engineering.

Kate has contributed to a range of projects centered around capacity upgrades in water and wastewater, being primarily involved in design and construction monitoring. Kate enjoys working on reticulation system designs and working collaboratively with others.

Ben works as a Utilities Technical Advisor for Wellington Water. As part of the Utilities Planning Team, Ben has been fortunate enough to spend time working all over the Wellington region, doing meaningful work to provide a reliable and resilient water supply.

Ben graduated from the University of Auckland in 2021, with a Bachelor (Hons) Degree in Mechanical Engineering. Joining Wellington Water directly out of university, Ben ha been working with the organisation for two (and a half) years.

Graduate Engineer

Kenta is a Graduate Engineer currently working in the Conveyance space of Wellington Water after rotating from Utilities Planning.

First working in Utilities Planning, Kenta would be seen onsite across all councils with contractors and the communities, working towards ensuring all waters get rom A to B and keeping critical assets maintained.

Kenta recently graduated from University of Canterbury with a BE (Hons) in Chemical and Process Engineering. Joining Wellington Water at the start of this year straight from university, being a new grad and Dad only further drives Kenta to keep our waters working well.

Senior Water Engineer

Erin is a chartered civil engineer with ten years' experience in New Zealand and the UK.

Erin's key expertise includes design of stormwater and wastewater infrastructure, low impact surface water systems, flood risk assessments, asset management, and smart metering.

Erin is an advocate for using engineering skills for humanitarian assistance and works with RedR, Engineers Without Boarders, and organisations supporting refugees to return to the workforce.

Joshua Long was born and raised in Auckland, attending the University of Auckland where he completed his Bachelor of Civil and Environmental Engineering, with a focus on Water and Environmental Engineering. He then moved to Wellington at the start of 2023 to take a Graduate Role at Mott MacDonald in the Water Sector, with a focus on Pipelines and Networks. He has enjoyed throwing himself into the unique challenges and opportunities presented by the Wellington Three Waters networks. In his spare time, he enjoys singing in choirs, including the work he does with the New Zealand Youth Choir and the Voices New Zealand Chamber Choir.
